Safety Measures for Kid’s Health in Summer Time

Students and kids have a very innocent conscience. They study the whole year in order to get some good marks, get first position and appreciation from parents along with appraisal from tutors and peers. They take help from the tools of online learning and gather information and knowledge regarding their projects and assignments they get the whole year and make their assignments properly to submit and earn good marks. Summer time is that wonderful time for kids when they enjoy two months during which they enjoy various activities and participate in various summer camps. It is that wonderful time for kids when they enjoy their dreams of getting independence and joy. But there is one problem: this time period of summer is very hot. And this weather brings various health issues with it which can harm the health of kids therefore they need to be prepared for it and parents should take some necessary safety measures for kid’s health in summer time such as:

  • Kids have very delicate and sensitive skin and the scorching heat of summer can give sin burns on it. Hence parents need to make their kids wear light layered full sleeve cloths which can cover their whole body and can save the skin from sunlight. Parents should always make their kids wear light coloured clothes so that they cannot absorb heat too much. Kids should have hats on their heads if they are going outside and sunscreen lotion should be applied on their hands and legs properly. Parents need to take care that if hot winds are blowing then the face of the kids should also be covered.
  • In the summer season the body gets dehydrated very fast hence, it is said that people should drink water as much as they can. Hydration in the body is necessary for the safety of body and skin in summer time. At least 1 to 2.5 litres of water must be consumed by the kids everyday in summer time so that they can stay hydrated and can escape heatstroke. Kids should be given those home-made drinks which can keep his or her stomach cool. Parents also need to keep eye on symptoms like irritation, less frequent urination or dark coloured urine of the kid because these are the symptoms of dehydration.
  • Parents need to keep an eye on their kid’s meal also in summer time and should include those food materials only which can keep his/her stomach cool. Meal items like curds, buttermilk, coconut water, oranges, cucumber, watermelon and lemonade keep the stomach cool and also keeps the kids away from heatstroke and keeps the skin toned also. These food materials also maintain the water level in the body also. Kids should also avoid eating anything outside because during summer time chances of infection increases from outside food.
  • Children participate in various summer camps in order to enjoy their summer vacation and during various activities like swimming, horse riding, race, biking and several such activities which include a lot and keeps their body healthy and fit & fine. Kids also meet with different students there and interact with them and enjoy with them too due to which their social and communication skills get enhanced too.
  • Students should be very attentive around water in summer season and should not forget that in summer season various bacteria can be found in the water unattended like in any lake etc. So, kids should attend the swimming in any lake or swimming under supervision of a learned person who can assure the water safety. Also, the water they drink should be either mineral water or properly filtered. In absence of a filter kids can drink properly boiled water. It is so because when water is boiled properly then all the bacteria die in the water and it becomes drinkable.
  • Doesn’t matter whatever the emergency may be parents should ensure that they should never leave the child in the car even for a second knowingly or unknowingly. Because cars get heated in sunlight and kids inside can get dehydrated 11 times faster than normal and it can be harmful for them.
